Love Seven Turns. Its been a part of my "Road Trip" mix since forever. I always play it when I'm driving back to visit the family for the holidays.

Dickey wrote some killer road songs didn't he?

Hey Bob. Much love.

2 things.

1. I feel the same way about "Seven Turns" (and was thrilled at the end when they brought it back, with Oteil singing... but it's so quintessentially Dickey that it wasn't the same.) "Seven Turns" and "Back Where It All Begins" define the 1989-2000 era for me. They're of a piece, and evoke the same sort of spiritual vibe.

2. I came to think THE best live song in the ABB repertoire was "Dreams." Every version was like a little journey within... and then, coming back to the verse (or back down off that mountain), just shimmering, tumbling, giant wave after wave. I don't think any band ever filled a room with sound quite like the 2001 to 2014 Allman Brothers playing "Dreams." I'm so glad both Derek and Warren have taken it with them.

Peace, brother.

thank you my brother! And I hear you on those two bookends, Dickey could really write a road tune!

Dreams is the one for me. THE SONG--every version of the band that touched it did something ABBsolutely magical with it. after chasing Dreams for what seemed like years, I am fortunate to have seen Derek do it a number of times since the pandemic--including the first show out of the gate. This one with Duane Betts was pretty damn special.

thanks for reading Josh. Appreciate you.
