Bob, you're really growing this project. Well done. Nice SWAG. Glad we got you to Roots. Was it some kind of Universal artistic foreshadowing that they chose the Bon Mausoleum at Rose Hill for that first back cover ?

thanks Mike, one of my earliest paid subscribers :). I do not know the reasoning for them choosing that tomb. Turns out Joseph Bond was a MAJOR slaveowner--though I'm suspecting many of the folks in Rose Hill had connections to slavery.

appreciate you my brother. truly. and thanks for hammering me on Roots. You were 100% right and I'm glad to be involved.

The slavery story in that area is pretty deep. Cobb County which is close by has become very famous in the last few years. It's named for a slave owning US Senator from the area. His cousin Howell Cobb was also a politician and became a Confederate General after writing a book in 1858 that stated that slavery was "God's will" and they were doing a good thing. Just the opposite of John Brown.

Macon’s wealth is all built on cotton. The size of those massive antebellum homes!

I REALLY need to get down there...it's a crossroads of 2 projects for me. The Allmans, Capricorn & Jimmy Carter were really a VERY bright light from GA in the 70's. Unusually and uniquely bright.
